Welcome to Luminous Breathwork.

Liya James
Founder, Luminous Breathwork
Certified Breathwork Facilitator

I'm so glad you're here.

Breathwork changed the course of my life. Through this practice, I learned to reconnect with my Luminous Mind, began a co-creative journey that healed long-held intergenerational patterns, and started building a life that aligns with what truly matters to me.

I created Luminous Breathwork to offer a different kind of healing space—one that welcomes all parts of you without pushing, fixing, or striving. A space where you can lay down the weight of performance and protection, and be held by your untarnished, ever-present, unconditionally loving and wise Luminous Mind.

This isn’t just breathwork for release.
It’s breathwork as remembrance.
As a way to return home.
As an act of deep listening to the wisdom within.

I hope you will join me in a session and experience this powerful modality for yourself.

About Liya

Liya founded Luminous Breathwork after years of guiding people through personal growth and noticing a recurring challenge: many struggled to access the depth needed for true healing and insight.

In today’s world, people often turn to meditation or plant medicine for that depth. As a Zen practitioner, Liya knows the transformative power of meditation, yet she sees how difficult it can be for many to settle into it. She also explored plant medicine and experienced its potency, but recognized it was not the right path for everyone, especially for those seeking a safe, self-empowered, and grounded practice they could return to again and again.

Breathwork became that doorway. It is accessible, powerful, and safe. It allows people to release old patterns, meet themselves more fully, and uncover clarity. Time and again, Liya has witnessed its ability to work across backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences.

Before stepping into this work, she spent two decades in design and tech. Often the only woman leader in the room, she was exposed to legacy and systemic harm unique to those environments. Stepping away also revealed how much the relentless pursuit of success and intergenerational conditioning had buried her authentic self.

Today, Liya works with fellow cycle breakers, people who are ready to stop performing and start healing. Through trauma-informed, lineage-sensitive somatic practices, she helps them untangle inherited patterns and live with greater freedom, authenticity, and congruence.
